It is marked "US Enger-Kress" on the rear and the markings are clear and readable. All the snaps and fasteners are in good functional condition. The shoulder strap has some minor wrinkling and a few minor surface cracks. There is also wear around the strap where it is stitched to the holster, see photo. This holster shows evidence of prior usage. These holsters were used by officers, tank crews, pilots and aircrews during WWII to carry the Colt M1911 or M1911A1 .45acp Pistol.
