Description: Rare Chinese pre WW2 Republican Army sword, likely Japanese made. This is the only Republican sword known to have a closeline flag on the pommel, all the rest have a raised stamped flag on a brass. (please see Jan E. Culbertson Vol.II) The sword is in very good to excellent condition for its age, rust free blade, no nicks in the edge, dents free scabbard, rayskin grip has intact triple wire.
