Description: Antique gelatin silver cabinet photograph depicting an earthquake ravaged building in the middle of a city. The building across the street also shows damage to it. We identified the buildings sign to read Bowman and Rosen Cloth Hats but we were unable to reference the city this picture was taken in. There are several African American men laborers around the rubble cleaning it up. This looks to be a photo of a photo for there are crease lines in the image but not on the actual image however it could be from a folded negative but unlikely. It is still antique and likely from the 20s of a slightly earlier photo maybe from the 1890s. In Very Good condition with gentle wear. Displays handsomely.
