Description: This koi has been living in my grow out pond for over a year. In that time it has grown very chubby and very healthy. I take pride in my fish and this one is no exception. My grow out koi pond is kept below 65° year round which causes the koi to grow slowly but very full. Take a good look at all the photos before deciding to purchase it. I haven’t measured him but my rough estimate is about 10-11”. The word “Doitsu” refers to the koi being scaleless. Therefore it wouldn’t be recommended to place it in a pond with sharp edges or substrate. This particular koi was imported from Japan however I’m not sure which farm exactly. My 2-3” koi are raised on a blend of flakes, pellets and algae wafers. They stay in quarantine for at least 40 days before being placed with my larger fish in my sale pond. However the fish in the pond are given only floating pellets to allow them to acclimate to being fed one type of food. I’m pretty good at shipping live fish however you can never know if something could happen in transit. My DOA policy is as follows. If it arrives dead take photos of the fish still in the bag within 2 Hours of the eBay arrival notice. It will cost me about $100 to pack and ship your fish. I will reimburse your full purchase amount minus $50 should something bad happen. However I really don’t foresee a problem as I’ve been shipping fish for years.
